IB MYP mathematics

Understanding, investigation and mathematical communication.

A vector diagram on grid paper: a quadrilateral with sides labelled 3a, 6b and 5a − b, and its diagonals crossing at a marked point.

About the course

School-aligned support for IB MYP Mathematics, with attention to understanding the ideas and to explaining mathematical thinking clearly.

How lessons work

  • Begin with current learning

Use classwork, homework or an approaching assessment to focus the lesson, and clear up the confusion that often hides under apparent fluency.

  • Explain and investigate

Develop clear reasoning, and practise communicating a finding as carefully as completing a calculation.

  • Prepare for assessment

Work with the school’s criteria and, where it applies, with the end-of-programme eAssessment formats.
